10 step 1. Don’t FiGht Cortisol. BloCk it.
s Magnesium goes straight to the root of the cortisol/cravings problem
by slowing down CRH and ACTH. Cortisol is naturally lowered. 8
s Fat burning increases.
s Your body’s natural insulin does a better job. With healthy insulin
production, instead of storing the fuel you eat as fat, you can burn it
in your active cells. 9
That’s worth a gazillion dollars.
LOW MAGNESIUM IS AN EASY PROBLEM TO SOLVE,
IF YOU AVOID THE PITFALLS.
Three quarters of all Americans don’t have enough magnesium. Even if you use
10
supplements, it’s hard to know if you have enough.
It’s not like Vitamin D. Magnesium is tough to measure. A doctor can’t figure
out your magnesium level with a blood test. Your blood only holds a tiny part –
less than 1% of your body’s total magnesium. Even if your body is super low in
magnesium, your blood level is going to stay about the same. That’s because
your system keeps your blood levels even. The rest of your body may be seriously
depleted, but your blood won’t tell that story.
No matter how much you might be suffering from low magnesium (and its effects
including high cortisol and high appetite), your blood level will still look just about
perfect.
So how can you find out if you have enough magnesium? Look for some of the
symptoms.
s An increase in body mass index 11
s Increased fat around the central section of the body ,12
s Muscle cramps
s High blood pressure
s Fatigue
s Calcium deficiency
s Anxiety 13
