/// 6 KILLER TIPS TO MEET THE MINIMUM SPEND

One of the most important parts about picking a credit card is the minimum spend requirement. While
a 50,000 mile signup bonus may sound like a good deal to you, if you can’t make the minimum spend
requirement for that card, you won’t get the points and you’ve just wasted an application.

               (pulls out megaphone)

ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU CAN MAKE THE MINIMUM SPEND ON A CARD BEFORE APPLYING!

Ok, now that I’m done with the public service announcement, I’m going to give you some tips of how to
               make your minimum spend requirement.

If you’re like me than your natural spending habits only have you spending a few thousand a month on
a credit card. Unfortunately, many of the better cards out there are upping their minimum spend require-
ments, with $10,000 in 3 months seeming to be a ceiling that many cards are at right now. And since
you’re taking my message to heart and not applying for cards that you can’t make the minimum spend
on, that means your out of luck, right?

               Au ccontraire!

Luckily, I’ve got a full arsenal of tricks that allow you to “spend” money without actually spending it. Con-
               fused? Let me explain.

These tricks will allow you to put spending on your credit card during that crucial minimum spend time
period but not actually cost you anything more than you would spend anyway. This means that you’ll be
able to get those “$10,000 in 3 months” credit cards and meet the minimum spend without going out
and buying a new tv, some living room furniture, and that cute pug you saw at the pet store. You won’t
be purchasing anything EXTRA, and therefore, you’re net spending will remain the same.

               Amazon Payments

Amazon Payments is my absolute favorite way to pad my spending without actually costing me anything
because if you do the whole process right, you’ll have your money that you “spent” back to you in a few
               days.

This video and post explain it fully and completely, so I suggest you head over there and check it out. If
you’re reading this in print, I’ll give you an example to help explain it, but I highly suggest you do check
               out the video tutorial later.

Person A needs to make a minimum spend requirement on their new credit card. Person B is someone
Person A trusts (spouse, parent, friend, etc.). Person A sets up an Amazon Payments account and ties
their new credit card to this account. Person B sets up their own Amazon Payments account and ties
               a bank account to it.

Person A logs in to their Amazon Payments account and sends $1,000 to Person B’s account. This
transfer should occur instantly. Person B then signs in to their account, which now has a $1,000 bal-
