was between the ages of five and seven when
this grand adventure took place. He had lost
track of how old he was on his sixth birthday
when he only managed to blow out five
candles. From that day on he wondered if he
stayed five instead of becoming a grown-boy
of six. He never asked.
On the day before his sixth or seventh
birthday, Asher’s father brought him home
